Congressman Bruce Poliquin

Representing the 2nd District of Maine

Standing With Israel

July 10, 2015
Press Release

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, according to the Associated Press, United States Secretary of State John Kerry said there will be another delay in the Iran deal negotiations. As the delays continue, Maine’s Second District Congressman Bruce Poliquin released the following statement:

“Having listened to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress and from Mainers back home, I want to make it clear that I will stand strong against any Iran deal that leads to a likelihood of nuclear weapons – ever.

“That is why, in May, I voted in support of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act as it will allow Mainers to review all the details and have a say in the agreement process. I believe that any time our government negotiates deals of this magnitude with foreign countries, the American people and Congress must be able to review any and all details of an agreement.

“I, and my staff, will continue to monitor these negotiations and will be sure to let the Administration know that Mainers do not want a bad deal.”
