VA Secretary Shulkin Joins Rep. Poliquin For Congressional Charity Baseball Game
WASHINGTON – Last night, Congressman Bruce Poliquin (ME-02) was joined by Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary David J. Shulkin for the 2017 Congressional Charity Baseball Game, which set a record for its largest charity donation total, raising more than $1 million.

While the Democrats won the game over the Republicans 11-2, the Democratic team, in a gracious gesture, lent the winners’ trophy to the Office of Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA-01). Congressman Scalise is continuing to recover in the hospital and remains in all our thoughts and prayers.
Said Congressman Poliquin, “I ask everyone to continue to pray for the swift recovery of the two brave officers of the Capitol Police, the congressional aide, the former congressional aide, and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise injured in this tragedy. Congressman Steve Scalise is a good friend. He is a wonderful, genuine and resilient public servant with a heart of gold. Let us all keep him, his wife and his two beautiful children in our hearts.”
Congressman Poliquin also joined Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (ME-01) for a portion of the game.
